power of attorney-responsibility

I live in IL. and have become power of attorney for my mother
who is in a nursing home and has been diagnosed with alzheimer's dease.I had to move her from the nursing home my
sister put her in because of the poor care she was recieving.I just
recieved a bill from a Pharmacy that says she owes them $3,652
from 5/09/01.My mother is on medicare-medicade,she has no
money but the $30 they allow her each month.What should I do
about this bill? Can I be held responsible for her debt?
