Is a prenuptial agreement the only option?

What is the name of your state? Florida

My fiance and I currently live in Florida (and will reside in Florida once married as well), however we are planning to marry in Puerto Rico. We would like to sign a pre-marital contract that separates our income and assets for a finite number of years, not indefinitely. Can we do that in the form of a prenup, or are prenups binding for the duration of the marriage? Can prenups be amended? What other options do we have?

You can put in the pre-nup that the separation of finances is for a finite number of years if you both agree. However, it would probably be wisest to get a consult with an attorney.
