Regarding Income after divorce of 50 years

What is the name of your state? Virgina

Me and my Husband has divorced after 50+ years of marriage. I was dependant upon him with income with the Railroad and his retired benefits. Now I am being told that due to this that I am not entitled to anything even if he passes on. Is this True? And if not what can I do to regain my check or other income possibilities. We have been divorced for approx. 5 months. Can a request to have divorce recalled a option? Or perhaps is there somehow I can make him liable for Spousal Support as I have not worked in all my years of Marriage to him.

Hon, you need to consult a local attorney. You should have done that before getting divorced. Do it now.

My X is a railroad employee (CSX) & I did a bit of research prior to my divorce. You really need to consult an attorney, but maybe these links can help you a bit, they are from the Railroad Retirement Board.
