my husband and i are married and havent filed for legal sep. or anything else.we have 5 yr. old who has been living w/me in CA for last 2 and a half yrs.he moved back to NJ a 1 yr. ago, following general discharge from usnavy for cocaine use. he pays ch. supp. intermittently, and 1st yr. he didnt pay at all.we are on good terms, and our kid visits yearly. this x-mas, he flaked on visitation at the last moment, causing her extreme upset for quite a while. she needs eye surg.and due to cost, i will be reentering active duty army to pay for it. this june she is to spend 6-8 weeks at his house for visitation, while i go to basic training.we have a verbal agreement that she will return here for school(already registered)before we relocate. she and i have talked extensively and wish to go to europe for 2 yrs. what are my legal obligations\limitations other than notifying her dad of reloc. area and providing yearly visitation at my extra cost fot temp. move out of usa? can he prevent this at last moment? what legal steps can i take to protect my current physical custody arrangement as it applies to military relocation?help!! |
