Residence and Child Support

What is the name of your state? New York

I'm trying to find out whether or not a 17 yr old can sue her parents for child support when the parents ask that child to leave the home

No, but whomever IS then supporting this child (grandparent, aunt, etc.) can petition for CS.

Adoptive parents ARE "real" parents. Sharing genes is not what makes you a "parent"!
