Restraining order question

What is the name of your state? California

There is a restraining order against my son, which was placed on him by the courts for being abusive, for 3 years that states he cannot come within 100 yds of me or contact me . Basically I had him arrested for punching the windshield of my car. He has been out of the house away from us and on the road to what my husband and I hope is full recovery. Right now he is staying with my mother-in-law. There is a family wedding in October and she does not want to leave him in her house by himself for the weekend. My question is this... if he comes to the wedding with my mother-in-law, is there a violation of the restraining order if we allow her and our son to stay with us.

I personally don't know. I just thought I'd tell you that your local magistrate can probably tell you.

You could call 411, or the way it's listed here in the white pages is under North Carolina State of: then it has listings under that and Magistrate's Office is listed under that. It may also be under your county or city's courthouse listing. You could also try going up to the courthouse, that's usually where their offices are and are there 24/7 unless you live in an extremly small town. They are also known as a Justice of the Peace.

-your son will be violating the terms of the restraining order if he stays at your residence. he will also be violating it if you are both at the wedding.

I guess it would be a bad idea then if we were to invite him to stay with us or for him to be invited to the wedding, especially since I was not the one that placed the restraining order on him?
