Rights As Partner

What is the name of your state? Virginia
I have lived with my boyfriend for 7 years. If something should happen to him would I be entitled to take what
I brought with me and what I have bought such as furniture out of the house. He has a child and I don't know
if he would let me have what I brought with me and what I bought.
Please advise.
Thanks

Yes, of course your personal posessions will remain your personal posessions. However, if you believe that the son would be difficult, then I suggest that you and your boyfriend make a list of what's yours, and what's his, and sign a copy for each of you. In addition, you should save your receipts from future purchases.
