Question

Run away?

What is the name of your state? Michigan

I am really confused and hoping someone can help me out. I am 16 years old and I was wondering if I were to run away from home and go live at my friends with her parents, what could my mom or authorities do about it? Can they legally take me from there and bring me back to my mom's? Or if I was to get emancipated...what are the details on that? I just want to get away from her. I am a really good kid ever since I went to church and now that she has taken me away i am afraid that I will start doing bad things agian like smoking and drinking and drugs. She is a bad infuence on me. I hope someone can help...and anything you might know...let me in on because I want all the info I can get. Thanks a lot!!

Yes the police and your mom can come get you. Your friends parents can get in trouble for keeping you without your mothers consent. Run away again and the same will happen until you've been in front of a judge and the judge says "one more time and you're in juvi" or better yet puts you there then...

I think at this time your only choice is to remain at home till you are 18 or emancipated. You could get in big trouble for running away and your friends parents could be charged w/kidnapping if they allow you to come stay in their home w/out your parents consent. Your best bet is to try and work it out w/your family or see if they will emancipate you so you can move out, but I think your better off just staying where you are.

I'm really confused - in your other post you say that your father has custody of you. Maybe if you gave us the whole story in one place, we'd have better ideas of how to help.
