nh--I'm not sure to take a seperation or legal separation. husband threatens to keep kids? won't leave house i would have to without kids? I need to see if I can keep the kids at our house and he would have to leave. I want to keep the house for 6 years while my youngest is in elementary school so we don't have to lose the district and have my husband pay for half the house payment rather than child support then sell the house and he would get half? I watch 3 kids at my house now so moving would make me lose my job? when I decide to do the separation how to I get started? thru atty or just thru the city hall?

You need to find and retain a Family Law Attorney who will advise you to file for legal seperation and let you know how you can keep the kids and remove him from the house.

If you do not.. then your husband will take the kids, the house and all your money.
