Seperation of financial instruments during marriage

My wife continually bounces checks on our joint checking account creating huge bank charges for which I am liable - also this creates a poor reflection on my credit report. How can I seperate and protect my financial resources from her? I gladly share my income (as does she) but she is unwilling to stop causing bank overdrafts which have cost over $1,600 in the last 12 months. Thanks for you advice.

If you wish to remain married, there is not a lot you can do. Yes you can seperate your accounts, but you are unlikely to stand by and watch her go under financially.. which will reflect on you in the end.
