Question

Should I try to get my dog back?

What is the name of your state? North Carolina

About a year ago, my ex and I decided to buy a dog, a Husky. It was his idea because he wanted one and he found the ad in the paper, but he didn't have the money to buy the dog. We both went to go see the puppies that the guy was selling and I paid him $200 right then and there so that we could have her. About a week later, my ex went to pick her up without me, paid the $75 that was left to pay and didn't talk to me again for at least another week. By the time I got to see him and our dog again, he said he had already sent in her registration papers without my name on them, then refused to have my name on them at all. He didn't take very good care of her (as in bordering on neglect) and she was even stolen from his house by someone he had cheated on me with. After that I kept her at my mom's house until my stepdad complained and wanted her out. My ex then took her to his parents house in Wisconsin and said she would only be there a few months (that was in September). Now, I can't get him to talk to me so that we can discuss the matter. Should I try to get her back to live with me (I think he's only keeping her from me for revenge) or should I just give it up? I'd be ok as long as I know she's being taken care of (like if she'll just keep living with his parents), but I know he won't take proper care of her.
