To sign or not to sign

What is the name of your state? South Dakota
My family and I live in SD and have a big question. My brother recently got married to a girl he had been dating for a short amount of time because she became pregnant. He does not know if their relationship is going to make it but there is one big question. She does not know if he is the father of the baby. If he signs the birth certificate is he obligated to pay child support for this child if they split up even if the baby is not his?

Your son should do the wise thing and get a DNA test to prove paternity after the child is born. He should not sign the BC until he knows for sure that he is the father.

Agreed. It is unfair to both your brother and the child for him to claim paternity if he is NOT the father.
