slander

My children's stepmother is always bad mouthing me. She calls me bad names, tells them that I don't pay child support, tells them every bad thing that she can find out about me enen though it is not true. There is not enough space for me to tell you everything that she has done. What can I do legally to put a stop to this? Can I sue her for slander? What forms do I need? Can you please help me because I live on workers compensation and can not afford a lawyer.
