son bullied by cousin at grandmothers/lack of supervision

What is the name of your state? california.

6 yr. old son was thrown into a wall, hitting his head, and also hit in back very hard by big 7 year old cousin living at ex-wife's mother's house, with me. cousin just moved here from arkansas. cousin throws tantrums, lies, and exhibits violent behavior.

custody of son is 50% with ex-wife/every other week. the weeks he is with her, he goes to his grandmothers before and after school. when he is with me, i provide before and after school care, myself, through flexible work schedule.

i told his mother/grandmother that i don't want him around this child even if it means he does not go over there until this child is brought under control. my ex-wife is going to continue to take him there on her weeks, on her way to work, due to her living almost 20 miles away and not even in his school district. he is registered, in school, under my name and address.

there are many kids there and a lack of surpervision. what can i do to get the ball rolling? i believe he is, eventually, going to be hurt and would like a paper trail so when this finally happens i can get him out of there? should i react now so he is not back and forth, on his mother's weeks, early in the morning and home late in the evening.

thank you.

You might want to consider talking with her about watching your child before and after school while making other arrangements.

My stepson was injured at his cousin's house, and we weren't notified until 2 days afterward (plus I got to pay the bill). He had an unexplained black eye and a bone chipped in his nose. I hope you can get this straightened out before it gets that bad.

In the meantime, you might want to help him learn to stick up for himself. Or see if there's someone there who can help keep an eye on him while this child is there. Short of a hospital bill, I don't know what type of paper trail you could have.
