My x-husband was a cop in our samll town, he also grew up here and knows lots of people. I took him to court a year after our divorce because he would not pay child support. The Hearing Officer seemed to favor my X. He imputed me an amount of money that is not easy to find around here, my X makes over $3500.00 a month he also would not let me do half the traveling so he let my x have $150.00 of child support for travel expenses (my x only lives 72 miles away). The hearing officer did the state formula with these totals he came up with and the final amount was $352.00 a month for two kids this was for 12 months but then the hearing officer amended my X to only pay $352.00 for 9 months and $100.00 for 3 months this is not even what the obligation would have been by law it would have been the $352.00 for 12 months. I had a lawyer at the time but she has since fallen very ill and is no longer able to take my case, but before she got sick she had filed several motions that were never respoded by the courts. It has been almost year this month. I am trying to figure out what to do about that and also file a new motion for violation of a mediation agreement. Should it take this long or have they just tossed it to the side? How can I go above a hearing officer and request a judge?? | |
