Hello, I have a two part question. My husband has abandon myself and our three kids. I do not know where he is. I live in the state of Florida, orange county. My husband has a depression problem including drugs and alcohol. We have a mortgage, two car notes which are in both of our names. I am unable to pay the car notes with my income. I spoke to the financial institute (WFS) and they told me if I turned in the car (the other one he has)they would take me to court and garnish my check up to 25%. I am bearly surviving as it is. I have no additional income to make the payments on either car. I am trying not to lose our home for our children's sake. What can I do as far as turning in the car without my check being garnished. My other question is what steps do I need to take to legally divorce my spouse who I have no idea where he is.
Thanks.....
