I live in Michigan. If I die is my wife responsible for
my credit card and loan debts? Would a legal seperation
protect her? I have taken insurance out on the credit
cards but I want to be certain that no one will come after
her if I die. I am 68 years old. What can I do to make
certain that she is protected for any outstanding debts
that I may have if I die.

My response:

At it's heart, your question is not a Family law question; it's a combination question that involves both Estate Planning and Credit and Collections.

So, I would kindly ask that you post your question on two other Boards; the Credit and Collections law Board, and the Estate Planning law board.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
