Tax deductions

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Minnesota
I was divorced in 2002. I wa awarded one child as a tax deduction. Both of our children live with me. I returned to court in 2005 to ask for additional support for medical expenses. The judge denied my request and took away my tax deduction stating "It was of no use to me based on my income". I want my deduction back since I am earning more money now. How do I get my deduction back? My ex-husband and his wife have been claiming her children and ours as dependents since 2002. They file a joint tax return and make over $300,000.00 per year. I don't think the deductions are helping them either.

File a motion to modify both child support and the child exemption. Why? It's been 7 years.
