Teen marraige? Is there any state where you don't have to have parental consent to marry if your under 18? I found a few but you have to be pregnant or have a child. Also Mississippi you have to be 17 for males and 15 for females. But besides those are there any? Or are there any loopholes or ways I can get around it? Thanks! |

| No offense but it's not really relevant to my question. I don't want people giving me their opinions on whether I am too young or not, I just want a simple answer to my simple question. :Is there any state where you don't have to have parental consent to marry if your under 18? I found a few but you have to be pregnant or have a child. Also Mississippi you have to be 17 for males and 15 for females. But besides those are there any? | Understand that even if you find a state that will work for someone "your age", whatever your age is, you may need to be a RESIDENT of that state to marry there as a minor. Many states that allow younger marriages have set up their laws in such a way that they are not encouraging minors to cross state lines in an attempt to marry. Many of them require that you be a resident.

| it does matter if you are both 12 years old. so if you dont want to provide ages, the answer to your general question is: generally yes.

| If YOUR state does not permit two people under 17 to get married, then it doesn't matter a hoot whether any other state does. NO state is going to allow two teenagers to circumvent the law of their own state. In order for a teenager to be married in any state without parental permission, you must be a LEGAL RESIDENT of that state. So if you are from Michigan, you must either be able to legally marry in Michigan, or have parental permission, in order to marry. So that's a long way of saying that the answer to your question is, No. |
