i was never married to my baby's father. he was sentenced 4 1/2 years ago for murder and his release date is 2033. can i terminate his rights and change my baby's last name since he does not have any contact with any of his family members. do i have to have him served with papers notifying of the change. i am scared of what he may do if i do this. |

Abandonment, neglect and lack of interest are other reasons you can use.
Most likely, he will be notified and given a chance to contest it. | |
