termination of parental rightsWhat is the name of your state? california i've been told it would be very hard to get my child's fathers rights terminated. my question is because he is a convicted and repeat child molestor i don't think it would be very hard. i want to get his rights terminated while he is still in prison. i don't want him to have any rights to my child. he has been out of my childs life for seven years and he has also molested my child. based on all of these facts and the laws i think that the courts would terminate his rights. please help. |

| Among the reasons for termination of parental rights in California, that may apply to you and your child's father are the following; Abandonment, or extreme parental disinterest Abuse and/or neglect Felony conviction/incarceration Failure of reasonable efforts Sexual abuse Failure to maintain contact Failure to maintain support Child's best interes Felony assault of child or sibling I would think you have plenty of ammunition. If you are now married to someone else, the process will be easier if your husband would like to adopt the child. No judge in his right mind would allow a convicted child abuser near your child. Please see a family attorney for a consultation - it might be free, it might cost $100- but it's well worth it. Hoping things go your way. |
