TRO ? or, PRO

What is the name of your state? TX, damnit

The short question is, can I, and if I can, how do I file a restraining order against my ex-wife for her behavior toward me both in front of and not in front of our daughters, 9 and 10.

I don't have the money to procure a proffesional, so I'm on my own. She and I have been divorced now for a year, and since that time, she's made a feeble attempt at suicide, sort of. She took 15 or so xannex and wound up in the hospital. She did this while at home with the girls. Now she is calling and threatning to make stuff up (I have that part taped-thanks to this board I know it's legal) about me and spread it around at her work, I work for the same company. She will also call from work, on break while in front of others and verbally abuse me. I'm really thick skinned and words don't do much to me, but I've turned my shoulder too many times thinking she'll find someone or for whatever reason stop the harrassment and the girls won't be exposed to even more of a mess with the authorities involved. We've been divorced for 14 months.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'd suggest contacting the attorney who handled your divorce (if you were represented) he may allow you to make payments. A lot of attorneys provide a free consultation or charge $50.00 and do allow you to make payments. You could also go to your county clerks office and inform them that you would like to file for a restraining order- sometimes they will waive the cost. You could also contact Legal Aid.
