Unwed mother seeking custody advice

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? California

I am in the Navy as well as the baby's father. I do not know which state applies to custody, my home state where I am still a legal resident or the state my child was concieved in.
I also need to know what my rights are as an unwed mother. He is telling me because he and his girlfriend are getting married they can take my son from me because there are two of them and only one of me. He is also trying have me alternate every 3 days with him. My son is only 6 months old.
What do I need to do?

dad doesnt know what hes talking about

why does the father think just because he's getting married that hes better suited to have custody? i know a lot of single mothers, just because they arent married doesnt make them unfit parents. stop listening to this joker, he doesnt know what the hell he's talking about.
