Urgent! H1 to H4 to H1

Hi

I have been working here on H1B. I am plannig to have a change of status to H4 and move to Washington state to stay with my husband as my job ends in december. I have following queries

1. My H1B pettition is valid till april 2006. Is it possible to change status to H4 from H1B in case I find a new job?

2. Do my new employer need to file a new pettition altogether if I get a job. If same pettion remains valid, is it possible to file for H1B transfer anytime before the pettition expires.
