Yes, that tends to happen when my 12 year old gets a bit mouthy, my 8 year old gets whiny, my 5 year old starts being bratty, or my 3 year old throws a temper tantrum. They're lucky if I 'treat' them in any manner. Normally, they're just told to go to their rooms and out of my sight and hearing until they can act like a human being again, instead of a snotty PIA.
and THAT'S on my tolerant days.

Best words of wisdom on the topic of child-rearing, ever.
A close second is: "GO TO YOUR ROOM AT ONCE!!!"

| ...and as they STOMP, STOMP, STOMP out of the room, tell them to come back and walk out of the room in the proper manner.
It's just so hard to keep a straight face. You must train yourself to stay in control until you can get into your private area to crack up.
Wow...I guess the OP would think I am just sadistic.

Wow...I guess the OP would think I am just sadistic. | Hee! So true!
Also, as they are being taught to walk decently instead of like stompy monsters, they must also arrange their faces in some semblance of pleasantness, instead of the sullen look that I cannot and will not abide.

When can *I* throw a temper tantrum?!?!? Geez.. I mean like you know... When?
My kids argue about picking up their room, won't do chores, they keep asking me for money! Can you believe that?! They won't even do my laundry, or fix me dinner!!! They want me to take them places and buy them things! And they are just sooo rude! It just makes me so mad! Ya know.
What is a mom supposed to do these days?... I mean, like ya know? Can I move out? | |
