What is the name of your state? Michigan
I was married in NC. A year later we relocated to Michigan due to my husband's desire to take a job here. I previously paid mortgage and half the cost of remodeling a room in what was supposedly my spouse's home during the time living in NC. I found out later that the house was previously his, but had been re-deeded to his father so that his ex-wife could not get the home, and neither will I because it has been left to his granddaughters. I did not find this out until after we were married when I questioned the need to put my name on the deed, as I was paying mortgage payments and etc. We are now in the process of getting an divorce. Am I entitled to the half of the monies paid to remodel the house, only to never own it.I was completely mislead. My husband continually lead me to believe the house was his. |
