I am a british mum of 2 children 8 and 9,we live in England,my ex husband is in the forces.
October 1998 we were divorced in clearwater Fl.
My ex husband has promised my children several times that he is comin over to see them but always let them down.
At present he hardly calls them, then says he will call every 2 weeks its starts ok for first few weeks then stops.
He has since remarried, now he has to go to Korea for 1 year with the air force,he wants them to come over in may before he goes to see him,and he is willing to pay their tickets,i dont want my children to fly on there own and i have told him that i dont have the money to get my ticket at this time.
I have sole custody he has visitation rights within reason.
How do i stand do i have to let my kids get on that plane and go on the flight to see him, they are both in school and would miss schooling as its not there summer holidays till july in uk.
If i refuse to let them go can he take me to a florida court with me being here and take my children away because of this.
He tell s me he is unable to come over here due to his leave But he will be takin leave to see the kids.
please email me and let me know how the american system works please. many thanks sharon ferrell

Did you get permission to leave the US ? Did it state the terms of the visitation ?

Either way, do not send your children to the US. He could refuse to return them and you would then have a costly legal battle on your hands. He has leave, he can fly to the UK if he wanted to. If it ever did go to court, a judge would see that he lacked any relationship with the children and then to expect them to fly on their own for 9 hours to see a stranger ? ..

I suggest you consider seeing a British attorney and getting an order of some sort in the UK since they now have jurisdiction over the children.
