What is the time frame

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
Hello,

1. My husband and i have lived appart since July. He changed his address with the usps,on line. Yesterday he reached into my mailbox (from the outside going down into my house) and took out 4 pieces of mail (1 for him, 1 for my son, and 2 fo me). When i ask him to return them he refuses. What can i do?
2. Is there a time limit for property abandonment? Isnt this against the law?
