Who pays for a funeral, the husband or the daughter?

I live in Missouri, recently my mother passed away and did not have enough life insurance to bury her, I signed the papers at the funeral home because her husband refused to. Now I am being sued for the amount due, when actually I believe the husband is responsiable? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

If you believe the husband is responsible, then you should not have signed the papers to pay for it.

You are bound by contract law to pay it now.
