Who's responsible? What is the name of your state? West Virginia My wife's ex took her back to court for a reduction of child support along with 5 other different petitions that he filed. He represented himself while my wife had legal counsel. Who is responsible for filing the Court's findings and having them filed at the Courthouse. I would think that he would be responsible. |

From my experience....when you go to court and the judge makes a decision, it gets filed automatically and you can either wait around to get your copy (which may be done right a way, or you may have to wait a couple of hours) or they mail it to you. If nothing else, I would think your attorney makes sure, or should make sure, the courts findings are filed.... hope that helps? |

| I don't know if you will have the same problem we have here but they won't mail them to you. You might have to do what we do and just wait several days and then go to the courthouse and get copies made. I know here, you can get the whole file and look at it and get copies made of everything. Then again, since she had a lawyer (sorry I forgot about that), I would think he would be responsible for mailing her the copies anyway. |

| My wife's lawyer eventually had to prepare the papers and send them to the lawmaster for his signature and then have them filed with at the County Courthouse. Since her ex is the one that filed all the petitions for the changes which all but one were denied, I still feel it was his responsibility. This cost my wife to have them prepared by her lawyer. Any ideas? |
