Writing a contract to protect my credit

this mortgage will be in florida ...i will be getting a mortgage with my husband. the mortgage will be given to me alone on my excellent credit...we will be both put on the deed of the house...i want my husband to sign a letter with words that tie him into the great responsibly i will have by signing the mortgage all alone. something that he acknowledges the fact that we both will be responsible to make sure that this mortgage is always paid on time and if he dont then he will be liable for the debt also...he is willing to sign this letter I just need the correct words to write this document...any help would be appreciated.

Greetings.

Either he is a co-signer on the mortgage loan or he is not.

If he is a co-signer, he is jointly liable for the debt. If he is not a co-signer, he is not jointly liable on the debt.

Now, if you two were to divorce later, the court might order him to pay part of the debt on the house. However, if you stay in the house, the court most likely won't.

Regardless of whether he co-signs the loan or not, some states would allow him to claim half the equity in the home that accrues during the marriage, if you two divorce later.

Hope this information helps.
