What is the name of your state? Pennsylvania

When someone dies and a family member signs a consent form for an autopsy, who is responsible to see that the autopsy is performed? Who is notified and in what order?

Thank you

the medical examiner's office is responsible for performing the autopsy. the results are given to the next of kin, as noted at the time of the request.. a copy also goes to the police if the death is ruled anything but "natural causes".
