What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? RI

- Need to know if any hospital can be held responsible - ?
We received forged ( not original) medical bill from one of the reputed hospital chain asking us to pay one of the charge online .
Fortunately We check online and old bill we found that there are few differences from what we usually receive and what we got .
More than that it contains exact one of our due ( with all the correct data - from doctor name to service we took , hospital name etc ) . We checked online and found that that bill is really due but hospital has not released yet .
Name and logo of this hospital exactly matches.

More than I am worried that how can one get medical information of treatment ( along with charges , doctor's name accurately) .

We feel this is really serious offence and dangers our medical /personal/financial information .

Do you think this makes a valid case ? and who can be held accountable for this ? hospital ? Insurance ?

Your post is almost impossible to understand but it sounds like you received services and were billed for them. This is perfectly legal and yes you have to pay.

It sounds like you received a bill that did not take into account adjustments happening after the bill was issued. I suggest you reconcile the two amounts and come back if you have further questions.

Are you saying you received a scam bill directing you to pay someone other than the hospital?

You need to contact the hospital your insurance and discuss this with them further. Why rush and want to sue before you even know what's going on?

Medical billing is an art. To see if problems requires full facts that we don't and won't have. From what was said, at best, a contractual issue better resolved by discussion.

Yes but ...

I agree.. You need to reconcile with the hospital billing department and discuss with them your disputes.. If they will still argue with your dispute and you have proven them wrong in this case, then that's the time that you have to talk to a lawyer.

Ellipses... the new period...

If you think your medical information has been compromised, samu.gaurav, you might want to contact the hospital directly to discuss your receipt of the online bill. It could be legitimate. If it is not, then the hospital might decide to investigate to make sure their database has not been accessed illegally. There is no indication from what you have posted that there is any legal action for you to pursue, at least at this point in time.

Ellipses have 3.'s. Some say there is a space both before and after, but...
Style guides say to treat an ellipsis as a three-letter word, with three periods and two spaces ( ... ). They are used to indicate the deletion of one or more words. If there is a complete sentence before the ellipsis, there should be a period at the end of the sentence followed by a regular space, then the ellipsis. When an ellipsis is needed at the end of a sentence in one paragraph and again at the start of the sentence in the following paragraph, ellipses should be used in both places.

When periods are used like this. . . . . . it could indicate that the writer is simply pausing to think and has not deleted any words at all. . . . . .possibly pausing to think about deleting many of the words already written. :)

As a note, where ellipses are used, and how the periods are placed, and how many periods are used, can be clues to a writer's identity.

Style guides?

Or, the Stylebook? (If reporter.)

Perhaps, The Chicago Manual? (If publisher.)

MLA? (If student or professor.) Of course, MLA has a space between each period and likes it if you bracket "[]" the thing.

The Bluebook? (If legal scholar.)

http://www.persuasiveauthority.com/2013/02/26/bluebook-rule-r5-3-and-the-use-of-ellipses-with-quotations/

Then again, The Bluebook only really deals with deletions. What about just...considering? Or...?

Style books and style guides and style manuals, all. You can probably toss in a high school English book or two, as well. ;)

Most large news organizations have created their own stylebooks for use by their staffs, though, so there are some variations due to personal preferences.

That said, the MLA no longer uses brackets as a rule and will use "thin" spaces between dots so that, when printing, the ellipsis is not split onto two lines, and the AP Stylebook (I think it's the most popular stylebook available for sale?) follows the ( ... ) form, as does the news organization I happen to be most familiar with.

But. . . . . (pause, thinking, suspense builds). . . . .I have no idea what kind of stylebook those in Poland use to guide them with placement of their wielokropeks. Perhaps justalayman can fill us in. :)
