Dentist hit lingual nerve in floor of my mouth with needle causing extreme shocking sensation in my tongue. nerve block was for routine teeth cleaning. now my tongue is numb on left edge and burns on top front and side. lost taste left side of tongue. the cleaning was done to harshly leaving exposed deep sockets causing extreme pain for last 4 months. specialist said nerve damage is permenant and has not improved since injury 4 months ago. having surgery soon to try and close up gums to stop pain from cleaning. is this considered breech of care?

details

if a dentist hits the lingual nerve in the floor of your mouth with a needle during nerve block injection for teeth cleaning causing permenant damage and pain , is that breech of care? I have been told that during wisdom tooth extraction it can happen but should never happen during routine nerve block in mouth floor.

What is the name of your state, dnn?

Did you sign any papers prior to your procedure that detail the risks of nerve block injections?
