What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TX

I lost my job in September and lost my coverage. I am not receiving income or unemployment so I cannot afford the minimum healthcare plan and my doctor doesn't take that plan.

Do I have to pay a penalty for 2015 or am I exempt since I have no income?
What about 2016?
Is there free coverage available?

I have diabetes and hypertension so I am currently paying for all prescriptions out of pocket. I appreciate any advice or assistance.

Thank you,

John

If you lost your coverage after September, you are fine for 2015. If you have no income at all, you will surely qualify for Medicaid, have you applied?
