I have been misdiagnosed please help!

Hello, I have been misdiagnosed with a serious mental disorder. Not once in my life have I had any symptoms of this disorder. I have been forced to take dangerous medications, and I am already experiencing serious side effects from one of the medications I was forced to take. I would like to know if I can contact an attorney, or if there are any attorneys in the Minnesota area that have experience with this.

What do your parents say about this?

All I am looking for is an attorney that has experience with this. I thought that this site was supposed to have free advice.

This is not an attorney referral site.

I asked the question I did for a specific reason.

My parents don't think that I have this, and were suprised when they heard of this. If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize.

Who is forcing you to take medication?

ETA: And, just to be thorough, how old are you?

So, you're an adult. Find a new doctor. Get a second opinion.

I would like to know if this doctor has the power to admit me to a hospital if I stop taking the medication. I know for a fact that there are no papers stating that I have to take this. The main reason why I am concerned, is that no tests were done, and they made a diagnosis very quickly.

Depending what the medication is, it may be dangerous to you to stop taking it without medical supervision. DO NOT stop on your own. See another doctor.

What's the disorder?

many mentally ill patients do not understand that they are mentally ill and as such, do not understand the need to take the medications they do.

go to another doctor and seek a second opinion.

He has threatened to admit me to a hospital before. Once again, not one single person, at any time tested me for this diagnosis.

Ok. You can either tell us the medication and the diagnosis, or you can GO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR. Nothing's stopping you from it.
