My husband was given a medication that he told the Dr he had problems with when he had taken it before. Dr gave med to him anyway. This med caused Acute pancretitis and he was admitted to the hospital. While in the hospital the GI Dr said he needed to do a colonoscopy. He perf the colon and then told my husband he needed to be transfred to another hospital for a puesdocyst. After the surgery to repair the colon (he ended up with a temp colostmy) he was in ICU on a ventilator. During this time the Dr gave to much fluid which caused CHF then the gave to much lacix and took him for a CT scan with contrast and caused kidney failure. He developed stage 4 bedsore on the tailbone. He was on a special air bed but the bed was never set to his height and weight. The bed has a special sheet which in the 2 1/2 months he was on this bed was never changed or cleaned. He has bed sores on his legs which leaked on the bed. He was left with the rails down on the bed and fell out of bed, nurse did not even ask if he was ok, just put him in bed and said sorry but these beds are slick. He has been in 3 different hospital since he was discharged from the university all related to the colon and dehyration. this is just a sample of what this hosptial did is this neglect/malpractice?

OK, let's start at sqaure 1. What medication was it and did your husband have a documented allergy to said medication?

Pseudocysts are most commonly caused by chronic pancreatitis, but can occur with acute pancreatitis. Did/does your husband have a history of alcohol problems? Gallbladder?

Edit to add: What brought your husband to the first Physician for treatment? What was your husband's prior medical history? It is possible that his prior medical issues could have contributed to the unfortunate series of events at the hospital.
