Question simple CT scan was needed

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

THIS IS IN CANADA

My grandma was told by a previous doctor that everything was fine for year after she had stomach pains and recently she was rushed to the ER and they found out that it was because of a fold in her intestines. This would have been easily fixed if they did a CT scan before. Can we sue for negligence?
