What if the landlord has not taken any preventive measure to deter vandalism/theft and or suspicious activities by many tenats living on the property on several occassion?

Hi.. are you a landlord? - I didn't have my question anwered yet. Do landlords have the right to abord tenants in such a way that does not make them feel comfortable?
The problem is that I have made up many stories in order to protect my privacy. My attourney says that I should tell them the truth and I think I will.
But she is gonna move out of state in 3 weeks anyway, so i don't think I needed to go over the details.
I am just confused with the way they harass me.
