    Served almost 4 years after being added to a lawsuit?

    I was added to a lawsuit in early 2009, my attorney answered and I never heard back from him. Just a few weeks ago April 2012 a process server, served my sister since I was not home. Is there a time limit on when they are suppose to serve me formally in NYS? Thanks
