Not a lot of employers are going to rush to hire someone with a personality disorder that was so bad it got them kicked out of the military.

Apparently, posing nude for a magazine will get you kicked out. Just call up "Playgirl" and offer your services...
Don't you have to be in a partial uniform for that to work?

Ever heard of home tutoring? Most schools supply this if you are out for a prolonged time for an illness.

Him, and his family dont want to always be wondering, and looking over his shoulder- I have heard and read in these forums that the Army doesnt waste time on a soldier who is so young, searching for an AWOL soldier. But, if he ever gets pulled over for speeding, or J-walking.. lol, would he be incarcerated? (I know I spelt that wrong)

IS THERE ANYTHING HE CAN DO TO GET OUT? LEGALLY?

Thanks,

Brett

He has a few options and needs to discuss this with his recruiter before going to AIT. If your brother succeeds in getting discharged he should be prepared to pay back any enlistment bonus he may have received.

Why don't you answer the OPs question?

Your brother is in the Reserves... There is no split-option training for active duty.

He is still in an entry-level status, as he has not attended AIT. AIT attendance is contingent upon his completion of High School.

You said he is struggling in school... If he does not graduate on time, he will miss his AIT class. He will be discharged for failing to meet minimum enlistment standards (ELS), uncharacterized discharge. He would then have to go back and repeat his senior year (he is on the verge of that anyway), but he would no longer be in the reserves.

The only catch is he will require a waiver to enlist if he ever decided to join again... Basically so it can be proven that he met the present day's standards.

Good luck!

You can put on weight and blow body fat and fail the PT test as well as fail the annual medical due to obesity (its really easy to fail a military medical if your 50 lbs overweight, your EKG will be irregular and you will likely have red flag blood sugars and possibly high blood pressure) make sure you keep all these medical documents and if they order you to go to AIT or deploy you can state that you are undeployable and if they do not accnoloage your medical status you can innitiate a congressional inquiry based upon your medical paperwork. This is probably the best way if they will not let you out because it does not have implications in the civilian world.
