Question

Abrupt MEB/Retirement

What is the name of your state? OH
I was abruptly medically retired at 19 years, 2 months for HEADACHES under the ill informed counsel of a military appointed attorney. I was told I would recive 30% disability. My military appointed attorney advised me not to go be the board, suggesting if I chose to go in front of the board I would possibly walk away with nothing (o%). Upon retiring, the VA only gave me 10% for headches. For the past two years I have battled with the USAF and VA hosiptals for a true diagnoses of my illness to no avail. I have come to believe my illness was more severe than I was told when they forced me out so hurriedly, due to the fact I have so many unexplainable symptoms. There are a lot more pieces to this complex puzzle. Anyway, I petitioned the Military Board of Corrections in an attemp to have my records adjusted to award me my 20 year status, which would entitle me to benefits I currently am not able to get. They're asking me to justify my injustice. It's a fact they rushed to process my PEB (approximately 2 weeks). Initially, I was told they were submitting it to give me a limitation code C. I need some guidance on how justify my injustice to the baord.

How long have you been discharged? When did you petition the Military Board of Corrections?

Do you have a complete copy of your SRB & Medical Records?

What are the "more pieces to this complex puzzle" that need to be unveiled?

Abruptly MEB/Retirement

I was medically retired Jan 04. I petitioned for the correction last October.

I have some of my records and attempting to gather the rest.

I have had problems concentrating and focusing which has added greatly to the difficulty of this entire process and my judgement.

Were you in Combat? If so, what year or years, and for how long?
Also, have you made any contact with your locale Veterans Service
Organizations? If so, is the Veterans Service Officer helpful in
assisting you with your claim? If not, who is helping you? By the
way, it would be helpful for a Veterans Service Officer to assist
you in obtaining your complete SRB & Medical Records, as well
as many other thing[s] that, you should be eligible for; and they
are trained to help you at not cost to you; just your time!
