| | | Adultery in military. Now it gets confusing I'm in SC. Okie dokie I hope you don't get as confused as I am. My husband is on TAD with a unit. Now he came home and slept with another marine's wife. This marine is in his parent command. His TAD command didn't punish him since he notified them first before the parent command could. Now six months later both marines just happen to be at the same base in Iraq. My husband is TAD still. The other marine has chosen not to press adultery charges but had since kept complaining. So TAD put a restraining order on my husband and told him that if he follows it he will not get into anymore trouble. So, here is my question.
My husband is returning to his parent command in a month or so. Can they punish him? Even though he has not been their marine in a year and the indescretion occured while he was TAD. Both Sgt. Majors have talked twice. What could they do to my husband when he returns? Can I go talk to JAG myself. My husband can't get to one till later this weeks. We have also are about to get re-enlistment money. How long after we recieve the money can they take it away. Thank you. |

Article 139 is a catch all. Conduct unbecoming a marine. ( SCREWING AROUND IS !!)
If the normal paths do not work, write a congressman. As a former Marine, we are held to a higher standard than the average. |

It is admirable that you have stuck by him throughout this ordeal but expect a storm to rise when he returns. Many commands prefer to handle their own business. Punishments will be dolled out upon the return to the command to minimize the exposure of the embarrassing acts of the accused. If it were more serious he would have been returned home, so you can expect him to remain in service at least. | |
