Already signed D214 need info

Im in Cali right now, And I ran into a problem. I just wanna know after you sign your DD214 are you done or no************** heres what happened I was suposed to go on terminal 3 weeks ago but i had a mix up with MCP/CIF the gear issue place they had me down for a doulble issue of everything when i didnt have it.... so i had to route a missing gear statement which has been sitting on my SgtMaj's desk for the last 3 weeks so im here sleeping on a buddies couch with all my stuff wife and kids already moved home. Naturally im pissed an i havent gone to work in 2 weeks. Noone in my shop knows and they all think im already gone because i already check out with them.....but i signed my DD214 already so i was wondering if i can still get in trouble for not going to work the last 2 weeks?

odd one here..
When I was getting separated, problems with CIF almost caused me to have to stay an extra day. Moreover not necessarily CIF, but the elastic band you put on your Kevlar. I had, like most soldiers, just written my last name on it in MagicMarker, and they wouldn't take it. So after leaving CIF I had to run around off post at all the junk dealers/military gear guys' shops' looking for what is essentially a rubber band. Well noone had them, and MCSS was out too, so I was stuck. The worse thing is that I actually had one, but I lost it when I had moved off post recently before gettting out of the military. I ended up having to have the company supply CPL give me his, so I could clear CIF. Which was ultimatly how it happened.

So my question to you is this: Have you already cleared everything but CIF?
I mean you stated you were separated from your fam, so that infers you've cleared housing. seems like you've cleared your duty area and a few other areas. The thing is I didn't think you could clear your unit without clearing CIF, which would not allow you to clear post thus getting your DD214 and turning in your Military ID and getting the civil one. Also were you sent to Transportation? Did you recieve your discharge Orders? they should have given you a set of orders that states you were assigned to transportation, and once you go there you are discharged from that component. If you have that order, you ARE infact out of the army. It's odd that it happened, I was seriously under the impression that you were unable to separate without clearing CIF.
In my case I turned in my ID card when I was clearing and didn't wait to make it the last thing I did, and tried to go to the DIFAC and they told me I was out. I tried to explain that I was still in the army, but that I had just turned in my ID card early. So for all matters considered, if the above is true for you then you are out, the burden is now on the military to find this missing gear, not you.
Honestly, go back on post, get copies of the CIF issue papers, and whatever your CSM/Supply has, stating that you were infact NOT given, nor had/have, or lost a second set of gear or whatever. Once you have that, go join your family and pursue your new life. So long as you have cleared, and were not asked to hang around until it got cleared up you should be okay, hell you've waited longer than I would have. That's why I asked if you had cleared everything. if that's the case, make sure you get those documents I stated and roll out. If incase something does ever come up about it, you'll have documents stating facts to the contrary that it was your fault.
I'm not telling you to do this, but it's what I would do. If you weren't told to wait, and you have all your other separation/clearing stuff done then your infact out of the military.
