The Army Forgot About Me!?!?I have been AWOL from a training/holding unit in Ft Bragg since November 2008. Today is Feb 05. As of Jan 15th I am still getting paid, no one has been contacted, and through hiring an investigating service found that I have no warrant for my arrest. Is this common??? Has this happened to anyone else??? ![]() ![]() |

Who knows..?To be honest, I think they only send PMO after you when you go on Government property (i.e. the bases). I had a few deserter friends that they don't really know where they are but obviously I do. And going to base is the only way they can catch them, as from what one has told me. Marine instead of Army. Because as of Thursday last week, he is a deserter. UNLESS the civilian police catch you doing something unlawful and they find out you are AWOL, they can call PMO and arrest you. Idk.. I hope this helps..! |

| call a base or your unit and request to be issued awol and a warranty im not joking, it will work. unless you don't ever want to turn yourself in or get discharged. but they are just slow sometimes- they didn't forget about you. i know someone who got paid for 9 months while awol (until they were finally dfr). | I promise you they didn't forget about you. They are usually slow at getting warrants out. My husband went awol in aug. and an arrest warrant wasnt put out til April the following year. He got paid for a month after he left. And I would not spend that money cause we did and had to pay ever cent back when he got caught by the cops for traffic stop. I will help you any way I can since we have been through it. Hope that helps. |
