Asthma and the Coast Guard

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington

I am trying to join the coast guard and I told them I had "activity induced asthma" when I was younger. I had a prescription for an albuterol inhaler when I was 13 and 14 but I never used it. I think I was just trying to think of an excuse for being out of shape. But anyways, my recruiter says that I cant have a waiver to excuse the asthma even though i have been extremely active throughout high school and have not had a prbolem with it. And I was just wondering what the meps doctors will do with this and if there is anything I can do to still get in.

-Thanks

Asthma past the age of thirteen is usually a Permanent Disqualification?

Who diagnosed you?

My family doctor diagnosed me. But i am pretty certain that is was a misdiagnosis because I think I was trying to come up with an excuse for not being in shape for school sports
