AWOL/Deserters Just got back from Ft. Knox, KY

What is the name of your state? GA

Since IrishGoat put up at post of how it was at Ft. Sill here is my experience at Ft. Knox at anotherPCF.

Get a bus or plane ticket to Louisville, Kentucky and when you get to the airport turn yourself in at Ft. Knox Reception Center. I'm not sure about the bus station. The MP's will come pick you up and it is about a 45 minute ride to the base. They will take you to the MP station and go through all your stuff and pat you down. Then they will take you to the PCF.

Once you get to the PCF which is run by Civilian Prison Guards who are very nice unless you make them mad. They will inprocess you which means explaining why you went awol, if you want a lawyer, and pretty much that is it. They will take everything from you except wedding rings, engagement rings, reading material. They will give you a foot locker with a lock, PTs, you 'll get your BDU's mayber a couple of hours later, and a hygiene bag.

You actually finish inprocessing on Fridays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Talk to JAG, ACAP on Mondays and Thursdays. You get to leave on Tuesdays and Fridays about 11:00 am.

They will give everyone a Chapter 10 discharge unless you want a Chapter 14 or stay in.

If you get wrote up while you are in there they will make you stay an extra 45 days.

Details are easy and you will be glad to take them just so you can go outside and you can't smoke there.

Chow is brought to the PCF and it is at 6:15, 11:20, 4:00. The food is really bad.

Why doesn't he go to Ft. Sill? I live closer to Knox, but went to Sill anyway. If he's turning himself in, might as well make it easier on himself.

You can report to any post you want, they're gonna send you to either Ft Sill, or Ft Knox.

If your husband is an MP isn't he duty bound to arrest you? I would take care of this before it impacts his career.
