| | | | awol in I.R.R status, bad apple40, read please. name of state: ny
I joined reserves in 99, so i am in until 2007. I stopped going to drills in jan/01 b/c they were typically military, sit around and wait. very boring. anyway i got transeferred to I.R.R, and recently i got called up for deployment. I know a lot of people that got called from the I.R.R last year refused deployment. Applying for co, and financial hardship is a waste i hear due to the slow movement of the army. well i will be one of those who is not going to show up this year. I hear it takes a long time for the army to DFR the irr people. any body in this situation, know anybody in this situation, or any advice. |

| | | Why did you join? You know alot of people think the Army is a game, after joining they realized its a hardship. So I can only advice you to deal with the problem like a man and do your duty now. Joining the army only because of the benefits is not the answer. Sorry if I sound mean, But you got yourself in that situation. |

| | | | revere78.....to Badapple40 they notified me by mail, nothing i had to sign for. BUT!!!, i made the mistake of calling b/c i was not positive that it was a deployment, it kind of shocked me. Anyway when you call the number, you have to put in your ss#, then the call gets transferred. I dont know if that means it is in their computer system that i called and they know that or what, i never did give her my name. I just asked are these papers that i got and read the top of it or something to her, and i asked is this an activation, she said yes. I just let her go. My concern is that when i punched in the ss#, they might have that on record that i called, what do you think badapple40. |

| | | They might have -- I do not know. Had you not called, you could always claim the post office lost the call up, or you could just move. Since you called, there may very well be a record -- I do not know.
