awol and personal belongings


What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)OR

im omw right now to ft sill to turn myself in ive rwecieved thr dfr and warrant letters after being gone about 3 months. ive read all the advice on here but my question is this.

i went awol from ait in ft gordon. what will happen to my personal items? i had a psp and my birth certificate left there that i would like back. is this possible in any way?

Have the authorities at Ft Sill contact your unit at Ft Gordon and arrange something

Each service has its own rules, but your gear should be safe. Each service requires that the gear be inventoried and stored for a reasonable period of time. If they followed the rules your in good shape. Hard part may be recovering it. You will need to work through your command to request shipment of your personal effects. If you receive a bad discharge they may require you to pay costs.
