Okay, I have been awol for about 2 months now. *dessertion i guess*

Anyways I read information about the whole DFR thing and turning yourself into FT Sill or FT Knox. I heard you can possibly get a discharge without serving time and what not. However you get a OTH Discharge.

But the thing is, I heard some rumors that if you were in military intel, that they do not do that for you.

I was in ft huachuca for my AIT training when i went awol. Human Int Collector.

So is this true? That if you go to ft knox or sill as a military intel guy you will be sent back to huachuca and sent to jail?

You usually don't get sent back to your unit because you were in training. The same rules usually apply for AIT as they do Basic. You were not a Military Intel collector because you didn't finish AIT. You'll go to Sill or Knox, where they'll revoke your clearance. They'll have you sign a request for a chapter 10 discharge. You'll go home, then get your DD-214 stating you have an OTH for AWOL, and you lose all your rank, if you had any. You won't go back to your unit unless you put up a hell of a fight stating you want to go back.
